Editorial Policy
This policy governs all content published by Sitelerikapat News.
1. Editorial Independence
Sitelerikapat News maintains strict editorial independence. Our reporting is not influenced by commercial relationships, advertising arrangements, or third-party interests. No editorial content is produced in exchange for payment, services, or consideration of any kind.
All editorial decisions — including what to publish, how to frame stories, and which sources to cite — are made solely by our editorial team based on journalistic standards and public interest.
2. No Paid Rankings or Promotional Content
We do not publish "best casino," "top operators," "recommended sites," or similar rankings of gambling operators in exchange for any consideration. We do not participate in affiliate marketing programs with gambling operators, technology providers, or payment processors. No company can pay to appear in or influence our editorial content.
If we publish market data that incidentally names operators (such as revenue league tables from official sources), this is done neutrally using publicly available information, not in exchange for any consideration.
3. Fact-Checking and Accuracy
We strive for accuracy in all published content. Before publication, our editorial team:
- Verifies factual claims against primary sources (government reports, official filings, regulatory publications)
- Attributes all figures and data to their source
- Distinguishes clearly between established facts and analysis or opinion
- Uses hedged language (e.g., "according to," "based on publicly available data") when information is not independently confirmed
4. Sourcing Standards
We rely primarily on:
- Official publications from iGaming Ontario, AGCO, BCLC, AGLC, and other provincial gaming authorities
- Government reports, legislative records, and court filings
- Published academic research and independent industry analysis
- Statements from named sources speaking on the record
- News reports from established media outlets, cited with attribution
We do not use anonymous sources unless there is a compelling public interest reason and the information is corroborated. When anonymous sources are used, this is disclosed to readers.
5. Conflicts of Interest
Our editorial staff do not hold financial interests in gambling operators or their parent companies. Staff are required to disclose any personal or professional relationships that could create a conflict of interest in their reporting. Where a potential conflict exists, the relevant writer recuses themselves from that coverage.
We do not accept gifts, hospitality, or complimentary services from companies we cover.
6. Responsible Reporting on Gambling
We follow responsible reporting guidelines when covering gambling-related topics. This includes:
- Not publishing content that glamorizes or promotes gambling beyond neutral factual reporting
- Including responsible gambling resources in articles where relevant
- Not using language that constitutes an inducement to gamble (no "sign up bonuses," no "best odds," no "win big" framing)
- Treating problem gambling as a public health issue deserving serious coverage
7. Corrections Policy
We are committed to correcting errors promptly and transparently. See our Corrections & Updates page for our full corrections procedure.
8. Right of Reply
Where our reporting makes significant factual claims about an identifiable individual or organization, we will seek comment before publication where feasible. The response (or non-response) will be noted in the article.
9. Coverage Scope
Our coverage is limited to Canada. We cover the gambling industry from a journalistic, not advisory, perspective. We do not recommend gambling products or services.
